On March 11th 2011, Japan was hit by a triple disaster that changed the nation forever. Patrick Fox, a literature teacher working in an international school in west Tokyo, kept a blog from 3/11 2011 to 3/11 2012, recording the extraordinary social upheaval that began that year, and linking it to other global events such as the London riots and the emergence of the Occupy Movement. He used theories of literary criticism to try to make sense of what was happening around him - and came to some startling conclusions regarding his own mortality, his place in the world, and the Archetype of the Apocalypse that haunts the entire human race. The blog Not Fox News has now been discontinued and collected into book form here, with extra images and essays. All proceeds from sales of this book will go to charities assisting the reconstruction of communities in the Tohoku area.
