Sobre este artículo

Pittsburgh: Croatian Fraternal Union Junior Order Department, 1962 - 1969. Stapled wraps. Very good. Address stamped on back, some issues have toned pages and light creases. The Junior Order Department of the Croatian Association was created in 1915 as part of the Croatian Association, which was formed as a mutual benefit society for Croatian immigrants to North America in 1894. In 1926, the merger of four independent societies, including the Croatian Association, created the Croatian Fraternal Union. [Croatian Fraternal Union site]

Although the Junior Order Department was founded in the early part of the 20th century, it appears that Junior Magazine came into existence in the 1950s and continued until the 1980s, based on various libraries' holdings. The bimonthly publication presents news about the Croatian Fraternal Union and the Junior Order Department and their members, current events in Yugoslavia and Croatia, recipes, Croatian language lessons, and requests for pen pals with a focus to acquaint young Croatian Americans with their cultural and ethnic heritage. B&w illustrations and photographs. (11"x8-1/2"; newsprint issues - 11"x7-1/2")

In 1926, the merger of four independent societies, including the Croatian Association, created the Croatian Fraternal Union.
