This book is a compendium of tributes, salutations, presentations, commentaries and conversations across diverse fields of common social and legal interest. It is a book in celebration of the author s 40 years association with the first seat of higher learning of the country, initially as a student from 1975-1978 and then as an academic from 1979. Its contents, which cover the author s personal views on a number of different topics of common and general interest, including those in the spheres of law, politics, politicians and the exercise of power, values, God and church, community, and life generally draw from a journey of growing, teaching as an academic and being taught by the experience itself, and the lives of other people. It is a journey of forty years that has also been informed and touched along the way by family, friends, the Assemblies of God Church, and God. The seeds for many of the views expressed in the different presentations and commentaries had been planted long before the author went to The University of Papua New Guinea and well before he commenced his academic career. He writes passionately about his thoughts in every area that he has written on in this book. His presentation entitled, 'Change or Die: This is The University of Papua New Guinea, Damn it! ', for example, captures both his commitment to and passion for what he wants for the institution.
