Sobre este artículo

New York: The Vanguard Press, 1938. Hardcover. 4to. Red cloth spine and black pictorial paper over boards. (45pp). Extensive illustrations, pictorial endpapers. Very good. Boards rather edgeworn and slightly rubbed; a child-reader has crudely penned her first name across the rear endpaper and, by way of illustration, adds a large and simply single-color watercolor portrait of her smiling visage to inner rear flyleaf. A tight and decent later printing, with all appropriate points, of this early Seuss effort -- from the library of Senator Adlai E. Stevenson III (b. 1930) of Illinois. Uncommon. YOUNGER 22.

Sinopsis

The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins is a children's book, written by Dr. Seuss and published in 1938. Unlike the majority of Dr. Seuss's books, it is written in prose rather than rhyming and metered verse. The characters of Bartholomew and King Derwin appear again in a later book, Bartholomew and the Oobleck. Set in feudal times, the story begins in the Kingdom of Didd, when King Derwin is riding through a street past Bartholomew Cubbins, a poor boy in the market.
