Ballets Russes a l'Opera. May-Juin 1922. 20 nn. Bl. With numerous illustrations and color plates by M. Larionow and N. Goncharova. Illustrated cover (slightly soiled at the edges) With cord binding. Paris, 1922. Program of the memorable world premiere of "Renard" (after C.-F. Ramuz) and "Mavra" by Igor Stravinsky. "The series of parodies by the 'pasticheur' Stravinsky begins with the opera 'Mavra' ... which had its first performance in June 1922 with little success. The burlesque 'Renard', completed in 1917, was much more popular". (MGG XII 1503). Also included are the programs for "Carnaval" on May 18, 1922 and "Le sacre du printemps" on May 27, 1922, among others. Full-page illustrations of - Slightly browned, otherwise in good condition. - In addition: The program sheet for "Mavra", Paris, 1922.
Interior decorations by Michel Larionow for Stravinsky's Renard and Gonthcharova for Le Mariage de la belle au bois dormant. Photos of dancers and celebrities.
