Written by a popular preacher and newspaper correspondent, many of these chapters first appeared in the New York "Evangelist". 213 pp. with ads to front and rear of text. Quarter cloth bound, brown color, with paper covering, corners at fore edge bare cloth. Staple bound. Impression from staples to endpapers, quarter-dime sized chip to ad page at front, staples visible on title page. Several 1-2cm closed tears to rear pastedown. Moderate rubbing to edges and paper on boards. Light bumps to front and rear bottom corners; very light bump to rear top corner. Some very light soiling to text edges. Privately-owned, clean and tight.
