An outstanding and major historical and ethnological work. Thoroughly-researched and scholarly. Pages 1-559 focus on the Dakota, and pages 580-731 on the Ojibwa. Previous owners name and a scribbled-out name are on the front free endpaper. Minor wear to corners and spine ends, with .25"x.5" piece missing from top of spine. Internally a fine copy. Very Good or better.
