Sobre este artículo

Garden City: Garden City Publishing Co, n.y.. Hardcover. 8vo. Burgundy cloth with black spine lettering, pictorial dust jacket. vi, 482pp. Frontispiece. Very good/very good. Inoffensive bookplate removal marks on rear pastedown, else almost a "Near fine," tight and handsome; jacket mildly age toned and lightly edgeworn, with couple of tiny chips at head of spine. Tight, attractive later printing of this publisher's "Star Book" edition of the standard biography, first published in 1916. Garden City first brought out an edition in 1929, and did 14 printings between that year and 1939 -- fortunately, the ownership signature on front flyleaf is dated 1930 and pinpoints this as most likely the second Garden City printing. Seldom seen in this early jacket, with its striking graphic of Lincoln's head in profile. MONAGHAN 2229 note.
