Tight and handsome eighth paperback printing of this popular softbound slipcased "Laurel Edition" trilogy, first issued in this form in 1959. Iiside front wrapper of first volume bears printed calling card of Ralph G. Newman (1912-98), pal of Sandburg and founder of Chicago's famed Abraham Lincoln Book Shop. All volumes are unusually pristine.

The story of Lincoln's life from his inauguration in 1861 to his death and funeral in 1865. Awarded the Pulitzer Prize in History, 1940.
