New York: Random House, 1936. First Trade Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Octavo, 384 pages. In Very Good minus condition with Fair dust jacket. Gray pictorial spine with beige text. Bound in black with gilt text on spine and front cover and red lines on both covers and spine. 1936 on title page and copyright page and no subsequent printings listed. Head edge dyed red. Dust jacket is protected by mylar covering and has large open tear to head edge of spine and front cover, chipping to corners and tail edge of spine, moderate edgewear and shelfwear, and rear flap detached. Boards have mild edge wear and shelf wear. Text block faint marks on fore and tail edge. Shelved in Case 13. 1370872. Shelved Dupont Bookstore.
Sinopsis
William Cuthbert Faulkner was born in 1897 and raised in Oxford, Mississippi, where he spent most of his life. One of the towering figures of American literature, he is the author of The Sound and the Fury , Absalom, Absalom! , and As I Lay Dying , among many other remarkable books. Faulkner was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1950 and France’s Legion of Honor in 1951. He died in 1962.
