Second Printing.. 1936 date on both the title page and copyright page, black cloth binding with five ruled lilac-colored lines, gilt Faulkner signature on the front board, red topstain with some minor staining, has the fold out map in the rear, back DJ flap is laid in with the eight titles. Has a bit of cloth loss on the corners, spine lettering still bright! There is a triangular stain to the top inside corner of the volume, gradually diminishing after about page 70. Comes with a new facsimile DJ. A very sensible and collectible alternative to the true first printed in the same year. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
Sinopsis
William Cuthbert Faulkner was born in 1897 and raised in Oxford, Mississippi, where he spent most of his life. One of the towering figures of American literature, he is the author of The Sound and the Fury , Absalom, Absalom! , and As I Lay Dying , among many other remarkable books. Faulkner was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1950 and France’s Legion of Honor in 1951. He died in 1962.
