Sobre este artículo

London: Printed for W. Meadows, 1740. Second edition with additions, 8vo (190 x 115 mm), [4], i [i.e. iii]-iv, [7]-40pp., pp. [5-6] misnumbered i and iv, title page a little dusty, recent quarter red morocco, marbled boards, red morocco label lettered in gilt on upper cover. John Andree, (1697/8–1785), physician, was the co-founder of the London Hospital. "During his life he was best-known as the physician who extolled the medicinal properties of the alterative water derived from a particular well in the village of West Tilbury, Essex. His tract An Account of the Tilbury Water (1737) remained in print for half a century; the water was promoted as a 'true specifick' for diarrhoeas and all kinds of fluxes, and was considered to be 'fitted by nature to absorb and correct the acrimonious contents of the stomach and bowels'."—(ODNB).
