Sobre este artículo
NY: Charles Scribner's Sons. F. 1950. 1st Edition. Hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. One of 24 copies specially bound for p resentation. Printed from the uncorrected sheets. Inked hand written note on the rear flyleaf from publisher Charles Scribner reads: This is one of twenty (sic) copies printed before certain errors in the te xt were discovered. It is also bound in a different cloth than the regu lar edition. Laid in loose is a typed on typing paper list of the th ree errors with page numbers and corrections. The book is bound in blue buckram like cloth with titles and horizontal ruling to the spine and the author's name to upper board gilt. All known copies have the same binding and error sheet but a slightly different hand written ex planation: "this is one of 24 copies, bound in a different cloth from the regular edition and has the above errors in the pages which caught and corrected after 24 sheets had been run. Hemingway and I have give n these 24 sheets to friends - none were sold - Charles Scribner" Thi s copy would appear to be one of the earliest copies, issued before th e correct number of error copies had been found, and hence the "20" co pies note. We are unable to find any other copies with this notation. This then is the True First edition of this book, as the printing was corrected after these 24 copies. A FINE copy without dj as issued. .
