Sobre este artículo

London: Harper. New. 2013. Reprint; First Printing. Paperback. First printing of Harper reissue paperback edition with number one, 2013. Nice tight copy, no names or marks inside. Brand new unopened book. Cover design and photo uncredited. ; The Dalziel and Pascoe Mysteries; Vol. 2; 352 pages; Superintendent Andy Dalziel has a strong dislike of students, but, contrary to rumour, he doesn't actually believe in killing them. The discovery of a body buried under a statue at Holm Coultram College prompts a full investigation that adds murder to the usual student diet of illicit sex and witches' Sabbaths. His colleague Peter Pascoe takes a lighter view on education, but an equally dim view on murder. Nevertheless, he finds time to rekindle an old faculty flame, while Dalziel sparks a student protest. All seems to be going as expected when another body is found... .

Sinopsis

An Advancement of Learning is a crime novel by Reginald Hill, the second novel in the Dalziel and Pascoe series. In this novel, the detectives investigate a murder at the fictional Holm Coultram College. More bodies are found after their arrival on campus. In this novel, Pascoe's future wife joins the action as a faculty member whom he knew from years past. The book's title is an homage to Francis Bacon's (1561-1626) philosophical tome, The Advancement of Learning.
