4to. Pp. 194. Original cloth, leather label on spine, gilt titles on spine and top board with a black & white photograph pasted-on. The cloth is showing signs of use and shelfwear. There is some occasional faint spotting to the text pages. With 21 mounted photographs on heavy tinted paper and 65 illustrations in the text, all by the author. Nicholl was at the Royal Naval College, Osborne House and wrote the work to interest Osborne cadets in the bird life around the Isle of Wight.
