Very Good Condition/Very Good. b/w. map end-papers; the life of a Scottish born English woman who spent the early years of her marriage to an Irish botanist, living in primitive conditions, in the remote forests of northern India, eventually taking up residence at the Forest Research Institute in Dehra Dun, followed Dr Bor (an extremely able linguist) getting involved in the war effort as director of a programme dealing with refugees fleeing from the Japanese. Finally, the book describes their walking to Tibet in tennis shoes before returning to the UK when Dr Bor was appointed Assistant Director at Kew Gardens. Size: Octavo (standard book size). 204 pages. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Dust Jacket is fully intact but carries signs of wear to top and bottom of spine; now in archive acetate film protection. Price clipped inside book.
