Each with eight color plates signed in the plate with the artist's monogram and engraved on wood by Edmund Evans. Originally published anonymously, these pamphlets proved so popular the public demanded to know the artist. Routledge eventually capitulated in 1873 and issued them as Walter Crane's Toy Books with a crane and flock of baby birds designed by Crane No. 96. Light spine wear.
