Limited edition of 3000 copies, this signed and numbered by author no 2814. Hewitt commanded an operational group in the South West Pacific during WWII. Based on the contents of letters the author wrote to and received from his wife and on daily entries in his diaries, this book provides an authentic description of the operations of the war time RAAF. This copy also benefits from an inscription by Air Vice Marshal Hewitt on the dedication page, to the recipient, along with the death notice from the local paper of the air Marshal in November 1985 literally a month after signing this book..
