London: Iliffe & Sons, 1918 First edition. Undated by publisher or in text, but probably 1918 just as the Great War was ending, from the text and trade advertisments. Hardcover book . Grey cloth lettered in black to spine and front, no dustjacket. Black printed spark plug advert to back cover. 183pp, plus index and interesting trade adverts. With 5 b&w photos in plates and many line drawings and figures in text. Poor condition, though a scarce survivor. Covers soiled with various stains and marks. Text complete though one page detached (this has stains and edge tears); other pages near front held slackly. A few other pages have edge tears and marks, though the majority are clean, with tanned paper. Edge losses to half title. Pictures available.
