The author was an accomplished teacher and writer. His teaching career included choral and instrumental music, aero-science, biology, math, and photography. He wrote a 700 page aero-science textbook used in colleges throughout the U.S. He taught Physical Science at Biola University, in La Mirada, CA, for ten years. He has been the recipient of numerous Aerospace Education awards, and the 1989 recipient of Governor Ronald Reagan's Certificate of Recommendation. His aero-science students learned how to re-cover airplane wings, and one of their projects, the tail section of a vintage M-1 Mailplane, hangs in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D. C. This is a marvellous snapshot in time that presents the then state-of-the-art, state of knowledge, and state of practice of Aerospace and Aviation at the start of the last quarter of the Twentieth century.
