Sobre este artículo
New York: Doubleday, 1961. Book. Fine. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). 1st Edition. First Edition, missing the first edition slug necessary for Doubleday first printings. Later, unnoted printing, "AA49" in gutter of page 664. Signed by BOTH the author and the editor on the title page. Dark brown cloth with titles in gold on spine and front cover. Book has a straight, stiff spine, square boards and pointed tips. The book's pages are still layered stiffly one with the other, making it feel fresh and unread. Jacket is shiny but has a closed tear and fold on the bottom of the back cover with some minor rubbing at spine ends and some edges. Jacket has the ISBN number on the back cover and is not price clipped (19.95). Looks spectacular in new plastic cover. Jacket painting by Jack Keats and photo by Proctor Jones, which shows Stone seated in profile..
Sinopsis
Irving Stone was born in San Francisco on July 14, 1903. He wrote several books in a genre that he coined the “biographical novel,” which recounted the lives of well-known historical figures. In these novels, Stone interspersed biography with fictional narrative on the psychology and private lives of his subjects. He also wrote biographies of Clarence Darrow and Earl Warren, and short biographies of men who lost presidential elections. He died on August 26, 1989.
