NOT a remainder. NO owner's name or bookplate. Pages are fresh, crisp, clean and unmarked. Beautifully illustrated with gorgeous full color photographs of all female, indigenous artwork. Copyright 2022. From the Las Vegas Weekly: "Years in the making, Ah’-Wah-Nee is a dream realized for [Fawn] Douglas, who is finishing her MFA in Fine Art at UNLV. The show features all female, indigenous artists. Some of the invited artists are leaders in the field (Natani Notah, Roxanne Swentzell and Melissa Melero-Moose), while others are Douglas’ peers, up-and-coming artists like recent UNLV MFA graduate Noelle Garcia." From unlvfinearts: "The Dept. of Art and the Donna Beam Gallery in collaboration with the College of Fine Arts present AH’-WAH-NEE (Paiute for ‘balance’) a momentous exhibition and symposium celebrating the beauty of Indigeneity through the art of local and regional Native American women artists holding space on the campus of UNLV, the traditional homelands of the Nuwuvi, Southern Paiute People. AH’-WAH-NEE is curated by Fawn Douglas, Las Vegas Artivist and graduate student in the department of art. Fawn is also a member of the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe, and co-founder of the Nuwu Art + Activism Studios in Las Vegas... AH’-WAH-NEE positions balance as its overarching theme. Indigenous women reflect balance in their roles as mothers, daughters, sisters, elders, partners, community leaders, organizers, water protectors, activists, artists, curators, educators, scholars, storytellers, survivors, and decolonizers. The artists in the exhibition reflect AH’-WAH-NEE as proof of a thriving culture through their works, words and lives. The artists are: Loretta Burden, Noelle Garcia, Jean LaMarr, Melissa Melero-Moose, Natani Notah, Cara Romero, Rose B. Simpson, Roxanne Swentzell, and Shelby Westika." Sobre About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
