Title Continued: "At a General Communication, Celebrated, Agreeable to the Constitution on Monday, December 28, 1778, as the Anniversary of St. John the Evangelist". The first book of Masonic law published by the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. It was prepared by the Grand Secretary, the Rev. Brother William Smith, D. D. , Provost of the University of Pennsylvania, it was approved by the Grand Lodge November 22, 1781, published in 1783, and dedicated to Brother George Washington Full leather with raised bands on spine. Interior of text is tight, clean & intact. Pages are slightly age toned. (xvi) ,166pp. Pictorial frontispiece. Prior owners inscription on front endpaper. Rear endpapers contains hand written notes by Mason, S. Mayhew, dated 1871. Preserved in a custom made book box covered in blue cloth with gilt title on spine. Religion, Americana; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 166 pages .
