Light foxing on edges of text block, light foxing throughout; some transfer of ink of plate leaves without loss of text; otherwise a very good copy with a dust-jacket. First edition. Bickers, who served in Fighter and Coastal Commands as well as the Desert Air Force,draws from his own experiences in World War Two to detail the vital air/land cooperation that was needed for the Allies to gain superiority over the Luftwaffe, and recounts the stories of some of the men who played a vital part in returning liberty and democracy to Europe.
