Painted on Daler Watercolour board. Framed and glazed. Image 550 x 715 mm, frame 880 x 1060 mm. Double, acid-free mount., the lower of which particularly thick. Gilt frame somewhat rubbed and worn, but presentable, the mount very slightly marked. [Alan B. Hayman, 1947 - Scottish artist whose art is based on a lifelong love of landscape and wildlife. He spent his early childhood about the estuaries and beaches surrounding Montrose and was soon studying and drawing the huge variety of birdlife of the Montrose Basin. An accomplished taxidermist, a skill which has helped him understand the anatomy of birds and animals. Hayman worked as a commercial artist for 15 years, before moving to Glenlyon in Perthshire where he opened a gallery. Over the following 20 years he painted the spectacular surrounding scenery and wildlife of this part of Scotland. In 2008 he moved again, to the small hamlet of Drimnin, and here he has his gallery and studio, which overlook the Sound Of Mull and Tobermory harbour.
