A wonderful example of this Victorian souvenir from the university city of Cambridge, featuring a series of illustrations from places across the city. A souvenir work being a series of illustrations of the city of Cambridge. Scarce to find a 'Albums of Views work with Cambridge as the subject. Albums of Views was a series that showcased numerous notable cities and town across Britain. Comprised of a large folding plate with 23 illustrations of the city. Among the landmarks and buildings depicted there are numerous illustrations of the many colleges of Cambridge University. Undated, dated using Copac. Whilst there are no exact matches of Copac, similar works in the series are dated c1890. A delightful work of local interest, being a charming souvenir or token designed for the Victorian tourist. In a quarter cloth binding, with paper covered boards. Externally rubbed to the extremities, with a small amount of loss to the paper of the front board. Light age toning to the rear pastedown.
