Raspe: Nürnberg, (1791-1830). Sehr gut. Original-Kupfertafel aus Esper's Werk: Die Pflanzenthiere in Abbildungen nach der Natur, mit Farben erleuchtet, nebst Beschreibungen. Abt. Alcyonacea. Blattgröße ca. 22 x 28 cm, Druckspiegel ca. 19,5 x 24 cm. ADB 6, 376. NDB 4, 655. Esper (1742-1810) war als Biologe und Mineraloge ein bedeutender Naturforscher seiner Zeit. Er gilt als Begründer der Paläopathologie. - Gut erhaltener Kupferstich in schönem Altkolorit. Ganz blasser runder Stempel (unleserlich) am Rand des Druckspiegels, der aber den Gesamteindruck des Blattes kaum beeinträchtigt und die Abbildungen nicht berührt.
