Lawyer, government official, author, and lecturer, Hiss was imprisoned when ex-Communist agent and spy Whittaker Chambers (1901 - 1961) named Hiss as a co-conspirator, essentially on evidence produced from a hollowed out pumkin ... known as the "pumpkin papers". Strong copy despite flaws.
