This is a Very Good + Copy of this Book in bright and original cloth with spine in black and red in a Very Good Dust-Jacket that has some minor rubbing to the outer edges and slight dulling to spine of the wrapper.Not price clipped with (12s 6d net) showing to the front flap.This copy has a wonderful and lengthy inscription by Enid Bagnold on both the front endpaper and also to the front pastedown.It's inscribed to a 'Johnny' and is clearly a child she knew and whose 8th birthday it was and she comments on wonderful to have all life to come and further comments on the drawings that she did and those by Laurian Jones whan she was about five.Please view the pictures as the inscription is readable and complete in 3 seperate pictures.This was the only children's book that Bagnold wrote discounting her famous 'National Velvet' title.The book has a firm binding with NO hinge weakness and there are no loose leaves,no turned page edges.The contents and the drawings internally remain crisp and clean with no foxing or spotting.The dust-jacket comes well protected in a cover sleeve.Certainly a rather unusual item with some a wonderful inscription present from this highly regarded writer.Great collector's piece,8vo 172pp Reprint [1960] Originally published in 1930 .
