Sobre este artículo
This is a scarce, antique copy of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by LEWIS CARROLL. 1916; The Platt & Peck Co.; New York. The book features illustrated front and back covers in color, an illustrated title page, and color illustrations by Blanche McManus (most of which are full-page). Abridged edition "told for young readers." The book measures 14 3/4" tall x 8" wide. Uncommon edition - scarce in any condition.
Condition:
Light staining to the covers; some peeling of the top paper layer near the bottom of the back cover; the corners are worn/chipped; the top-right corner of the front cover has torn away. The paper over the bottom half of the spine has peeled away. The covers are attached, but have separated half-way up from the bottom. The top layer of paper has peeled upwards from the board at the top-left and bottom-right corners of the front cover. A dime-sized piece of the top paper layer has peeled away at the top-right corner of the front cover. The text block is attached as a whole and bound together by staples, but has detached from the covers. The pages are lightly age-toned but clean with only an occasional small, dark foxing spot; there is an inscription written in pen at the top of the title page. A Fair copy only - scarce in any condition.
Sinopsis
Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There , tell the story of a young girl in a fantasy world filled with peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. The classic tale of literary nonsense takes the reader on an exploration of logic and absurdities. The Alice books — sometimes combined or referred to with the abbreviated title Alice in Wonderland — have been translated into at least 97 languages with over a hundred different editions. The books have also been adapted numerous times into films (both live-action and cartoon), plays, and musicals.
