Pp. 64, chromolithographic frontispiece, pictorial title page and 22 plates, plus numerous tinted text illustrations (several full page), floral patterned endpapers; small cr. 4to; olive green cloth backed pictorial glazed papered boards, slightly soiled and with two small tape marks near spine, edges lightly worn; upper hinge cracked, early inked gift inscription (dated 1893) above later school library inscription and two stamps on the upper free endpaper, a little light foxing and soiling; Griffith, Farran, & Company, London, n.d.[1887?]. *Lithographed and printed by Ernest Nister of Nuremberg. Nister established a London office in 1888, and published several books by Robert Ellice Mack. Harriett M. Bennett was a watercolour painter and illustrator of children's books who exhibited several paintings at The Royal Academy between 1877 and 1892.
