New York: E.P.Dutton, 1887. Book. Illus. by Harriett M. Bennett chromolithograph plates and Title page. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Original illustrated paper on boards, 3 children watchint a cuckoo clock about to strike. No date, but a gift inscription of 1888 on inside of the front board. Edgewear minimal at the corners, and none at the spine ends. Binding is solid although the inside hinges are cracked. The Germans were producing the best chromolithographs at this time, this book done by Ernest Nister of Nuremberg. Inside, pages clean and tight - no foxing or browning. Lovely illustrations on nearly every page. .
