Walter Crane's Picture Books, Large Series: six eight color plates engraved on wood by Edmund Evans, and printed verso or recto with blank backing. Originally published anonymously, these pamphlets proved so popular the public demanded to know the artist. Routledge eventually capitulated in 1873 and issued them as Walter Crane's Picture Books. Fresh, very bright copy.
