Vertical line of binding glue stain to front paste-down with offset to front free endpaper, a fine copy in a nearly fine price clipped dust jacket with some mild rubbing, mainly to folds. This binding in uncommon. (21747). Octavo, illustration by Frank Utpatel, cloth. Signed inscription by Glenn Lord on the title page: "For Paul-one of the 100 / copies that Derleth / had printed up / Glenn Lord." A collection of Howard's poetry compiled by Glenn Lord. Published by Arkham House, subsidized by Lord. 636 copies printed. This is one of the more uncommon second state bindings. The first 536 copies were imprinted on the spine with the lettering running bottom to top, European style, the final 100 copies were imprinted top to bottom, American style. See Jaffery: The Arkham House Companion, p. 46-47.
Sinopsis
Always Comes Evening is a collection of poems by Robert E. Howard. It was released in 1957 and was the author's second book to be published by Arkham House. It was released in an edition of 636 copies. The publication was subsidized by Howard's literary executor, Glenn Lord who compiled the poems.
