Hardcover with dustjacket, "a peerless gift book for the Christmas season," first printing as indicated by the same date on title page and copyright page, the red cloth has a small piece missing on the bottom fore-edge of the rear cover and moderate tanning is present on the top outer page-edge, also, tiny areas of wear to the top corners of some of the pages, the binding is clean and tight and the contents are fine, the jacket has shallow edge-loss at the top of the rear panel and moderate fading on the spine, the jacket is clean and remains presentable, the original price (1.50) is present and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included, this story features illustrations by Beatrice Stevens and is a handsome copy despite the flaws .
