Methuen Children's Books, 1978. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG++. CAREY, Joanna. 1st Edition. 19 x 25.2cm laminated pictorial boards, brown map endpapers, 71 (1)pp, with illustrations by Joanna Carey. The book comes with a laid in printed map echoing the endpapers on a plastic sheet to refer to whilst reading. The book has a little light rubbing to the front corners and a tiny rub to the rear top joint of the backboard and a small ding to the front edge. Internally, the book has a neat ownership name to the top corner of the front free endpaper and a 2cm blue line on p14 but is otherwise very clean. The plastic map sheet has a faint crease in the middle. Described by reviewers as a 'decidedly different' children's book, it is very scarce as a first edition with its plastic map.
