Sobre este artículo

NY, NY: Holt, Rinehart & Winston, 1961. 659 pp., orange-brown cloth w/ yellow & black lettering & decoration, map-printed endpapers; Book shows light wear to ends of spine w/ several wear spots to edges of boards & a number of small areas of threading to cloth overall ( esp. to rear board); prev. owner's bookplate to copyright page; marginalia & underlining in pencil to about 85 pp., some only a single mark or a word or two, others more extensive / SiGNED and INSCRIBED by the author: "Best wishes to Henry P. Walhe, Robert E. Riegel." This appears to be written to the same person named on the bookplate, though there the last name appears to be "Waller" or Walher." Though this is only speculation on my part, some of the marginalia in the book seems to suggest considerations for possible revisions for the next (Fourth) edition. This being a 1961 printing of the Third Edition, with the Fourth to come out in 1964, the timing at least would be right. The notes that suggest this possibility are things like "change" written following one of the items in the List of Illustrations, "thirty men" underlined with the word "check" in the margin, the word "map" written next to some paragraphs, the word "cut" written next to a couple of paragraphs. Should this be the case, there is no way of telling whether these notations were made by either the author or by the person to whom the book was inscribed. Illustrated with 20 maps, including a foldout topographical map. /. Signed by Author on Dedication Page. Third Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Sobre High Castle Books

Hi! My name is Leigh Holleschau, proprietor of High Castle Books. We are located in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, about five miles from the Mexican border. The best-known city which people commonly associate with the area is Brownsville. Our address is 2431 Camino Real Viejo, Mercedes, TX 78579-9486. If you wish to contact us by phone at 956-565-2822, we are usually available between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Central Time. E-mail: HCBooks@rgv.rr.com Rather than divide our stock up into seemingly endless categories, I have coded each item with multiple keywords. This way you can create your own categories. The best way to do this is to use the 'search inventory' function on this page, rather than the 'browse' function, since 'search' accepts not only keywords, but author, title, publisher and other information. For example you could enter the keyword 'mystery' to see all mysteries in stock, and you could further refine your search by selecting the 'first edition' option as well, thereby displaying only first edition mysteries, etc.
