Volume number 21 of the author's national edition, very good maroon cloth hardcover with gilt letter to spine shows mild shelf wear and soil including touch of rubbing at edges and bumping to corners, tiny tears at spine ends, hint of exposure toning along spine, dulling to gilt at spine tail, staining at page fore edges, bit of toning at front endpapers and some other mild trace wear. 538 pages with 3 black & white plates including frontispiece illustration. Still an attractive copy that makes up an installment in the works of Mark Twain.
