Unclipped dust jacket has light edge wear, faint tanning, and spine darkening. This volume stands as an independent work Mencken wrote to amplify the earlier volumes of The American Language. The cover states that it "may be read without reference to its predecessor. " 8vo. 738 pp. Including List of Words and Phrases, plus index. In protective Mylar. .
