President James Madison gives his 1815 State of the Union Address on December 5, 1815 and addresses congress regarding the closure of the War of 1812. Various adverts through out regarding everything from commercial grocery food products such as; rum, sugar, teas, berries, raisins and financial bank announcements...ect. British-Indian relations debate regarding treaties with Native Americans and forced relocation. Correspondence between Michigan governor Lewis Cass and British Lt. Colonel Reginald James regarding the death of a Kickapoo Indian named Akockis in the Detroit area. Cass was appointed governor of Michigan by President James Madison and later Secretary of War by President Andrew Jackson. Scarce early Americana newspaper of the War of 1812. 4 pgs. Sm.
