The Preface is dated October 1st, 1808.. 19thc. half calf and marbled boards; all nine volumes professionally rebacked with new calf gilt-lettered spines; original endsheets retained.. Some foxing to endsheets. All of the original tissue guards are present; and there is the usual offsetting from the plates onto the tissue and often to the text pages opposite. Some occasional foxing, mostly confined to the edges of the generally clean and bright plates (there a handful of exceptions, mostly in Vol. VII). One 4-1/4" closed tear to a plate in Vol. II; and one plate in Vol. VIII is trimmed close. The original calf corners are rubbed and worn; all volumes tight and sound. . Folio,. Illustrated with 76 fine hand-colored engraved plates. . Sabin 104597. The imprint varies as per Sabin.
