Sobre este artículo
Washington: Gales and Seaton, 1834. Quarter Leather. Good binding. Folio. [2], 361, [1 (blank)], viii (index) pp. Backed in contemporary calf with corners and marbled paper over boards. Leather at both joints are splitting, but the boards are holding well; chipping to the leather at the tail of the spine; contents are generally foxed; last few leaves including the marbled endpaper show some silverfishing to the top corner (margin only); soiling to the rear endpapers. From a massive, multi-volume work, this single volume on the Post Office Department is complete in itself. Sabin notes of the whole work, "This valuable work was printed by order of the United States Government, and distributed through the Members of Congress. It contains reprints, not only of all the early occasional publications of the Congress that could be found, but many important papers from the Archives of the Government never before published" Sabin 1228. An amazing amount of material on the US Postal Service in its first half century. Indexed. Howes A-212; Larned 2484.
