A great small volume to take with you wherever you go--enjoy 5 minutes of reading --or 50, in those spare minutes. Upper edge gilt. Black cloth binding with gilt imprinted design on front and title and decoration on spine--rubbed, barely visible on spine. Front of cover has some discoloration near top edge and rear lower right corner. Tight & solid sewn binding. Lower corners gently bumped, scuff mark on lower rear edge, indentation on upper front edge. Frontis: sepia illustration of James Russell Lowell; and portraits of Bret Harte, Thomas Masson, Mark Twain. Interior very clean and unmarked, no creases, no tears. 4.25 x 6.5 inches. xv,148/150 pages. 1925, Doubleday, Page and Co., Garden City, New York.
