Sobre este artículo
[Hollywood]: [Published by the author], 1940. First edition. A scarce work by the right wing agitator on the corrupting and degenerate influence of Hollywood, which was established by Russian Jews who imported the "embryo of atheism, the oriental germ of eroticism, [and] the seeds of lust and hatred" for their movies. This Hollywood "Imbroglio of Immigrants" is a nepotistic monopoly that blacklists any director, producer or actor who challenges its hegemony and who uses its propagandistic films to spread hatred. Phelps followed up this work with "Hollywood: The Fifth Column of America," and a pamphlet suggesting that Jews be shipped to Birobidjan.
George Allison Phelps (1893-1953) was a poet, radio broadcaster and journalist who increasingly turned his pen and voice to the cause of anti-Semitism. He was an associate of Gerald L. K. Smith and was a fellow right wing demagogue in Los Angeles. Following WWII, Phelps set up an anti-Semitic organization called the US Americans, but it dissolved in 1947. He was featured prominently in Lowenthal and Gutermann's Prophets of Deceit: A Study of the Techniques of the American Agitator.
Stapled wrappers (7 ¾" x 5 ¼") printed in blue & red, 31, [1] p. Rubbing, toning and dust-soiling to wrappers. Just over a dozen copies in OCLC.
