Kryshtofovich who served as an agricultural agent of the General Directorate of Land Management and Agriculture of Russian Empire in the North America from 1900-1912, aims to provide information about the American method of constructing and repairing roadways, the use of which should provide invaluable help for the agricultural population in Russia for the transport of goods to the markets. The essence of this method is to transfer hard physical work to the mechanical engines and animals power. Covered all stages of roadways construction, provided a description of equipment and machines with 15 illustrations in the text.
