Sobre este artículo
Londres ET Geneve: Jeffs, Librarie-Editeur. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1852. First Edition. Paperback. War, Napoleonic; Propaganda; Width: 5.5" Height: 8"; 47 pages; Dated 1852 but one ad dated 1861. [translated-THE LOVE OF NAPOLEON III AND UNVEILS THE brothel Elyos: THE ORGIES Badinguet and his accomplices, with their mistresses and courtesans] Pamphlet containing violent attacks on Emperor Napoleon III (also addressed by the derisive nickname of Badinguet). Supposedly authored by French republican and abolitionist writer Victor Schoelcher (22 July 1804 - 25 December 1893) , but authorship was disavowed by him. In a letter to the Times, Schoelcher stated with contempt that "je ne m'occupe pas de si peu" (I don't concern myself with such trifles). In original wrappers, with portrait of Napoleon III adorning front cover. Covers and pages show light foxing. Edges show small tears. Text is unmarked. "..Nothing quite attracted readers like the salacious personal details of the lives of the French leaders. The insight into sophisticated imperial debauchery suggested here was sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Such "dime novels" were very popular in France, and the publishers always tried to find a new sensational crime or sexual scandal to ignite their pages. They were issued in fascicles, the first one usually free as a means of capturing the public's imagination. The rest of the installments were inexpensive enough to ensure a faithful readership. .." .
