German-language graphic novel of sorts with the narrative conveyed only by the pictures and their titles, which appear on opposing pages, by the award-winning German poet and artist Christoph Meckel (1935-2020). Number 24 of 80 SIGNED, numbered copies with ORIGINAL SIGNED PRINT numbered "24/80" laid in. According to the preface, "Anabasis is the third and most extensive cycle of a drawn world comedy, which began 25 years ago... [showing] ... epic movement: trains of hordes, teams, conquistadors; escape routes, battles and conquests; prehistory, history and Present; past, future, legend and utopia; power, powerlessness, crime; revolt, laughter and dream." Oblong 4to (12 x 10.75") glossy white paper-covered flexible boards printed in blue and black; in plain cardboard slipcase, as issued. Unpaginated; over 100 pages with 88 full-plate illustrations. Overall dimensions of the signed print are approximately 11.25 x 9.75"; it's untitled, and the image does not appear in the book. Near fine with small crease at head of spine; in very good or better, mildly scuffed and slightly tanned slipcase.
