London: James Cochrane and Co., 1835. Quarter Leather. Good. ccxxi, 453 p. 30 cm. Engraved plate in introduction. Half leather with paper boards. Spine badly chipped, corners and edges worn. Front cover has label for the "Book Society, Clinton Arms Inn, Newark" with accompanying bookplate on front pastedown. "Literary Gazette" review has been pasted on front free endpaper. Some foxing and thumbing. Pages xli-xlviii and 445-8 loosening.
David Booth (1766-1846) was a Scottish lexicographer who, among other projects, wrote articles on brewing for the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge. This is the first volume of his dictionary. A second was intended but never published.
