A detailed history of Napoleon's Imperial Guard, examining its origins, training, tactics and history, as well as its role in the Napoleonic Wars and the many rules and regulations that governed the Guard, as well as differences in uniforms, medals, etc. Originating with handpicked soldiers by Napoleon, the Imperial Guard served as Napoleon's elite fighting force, earning honor and extra pay. GOOD+ condition. Moderate to heavy fading along the spine, with some fading to the covers. Light soiling and rubbing to the covers. Interior clean and solid.
