In Spanish. Short description: Eduardo Gallegos Mancera. Ancho rio, alto fuego, Caracas, 1975. Autograph of Eduardo Gallegos Mancera (pseudonym �Arturo Villa). He was a Caracas-born doctor, poet, writer, and politician, leader of the Communist Party of Venezuela, of which he was Secretary of International Relations, and in which he militated for 52 years. He personally met and even befriended numerous leaders of the international communist movement, such as Mao Zedong, Ho Chi Minh, Kim Il Sung, Rodney Arismendi, Luis Carlos Prestes, Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, and many others. One of his most responsible tasks was his visit to Vietnam during the war and his meeting with Ho Chi Minh. An active participant in the struggle against dictatorship in Venezuela, he was also elected as a senator of the National Congress of the country. He was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples by the USSR. Also He belonged to the Society of Medical Students at UCV, of which Eduardo was the first secretary.
